Warehouse Worker

As a Warehouse Worker, you play a vital role in supporting scientific, medical, and educational customers by ensuring that a wide range of productsfrom personal protective equipment to laboratory instrumentsare accurately processed and shipped on time. You work in a fast-paced warehouse environment where dependability, teamwork, and attention to detail directly contribute to making the world healthier and cleaner. This role involves hands-on work across various warehouse functions, including receiving, picking, packing, shipping, and put-away, while following established safety and compliance standards.
Responsibilities
Process customer orders daily to meet established service and delivery expectations.
Work in one or more warehouse functions, including receiving, picking, packing, shipping, and put-away.
Accurately pick items from inventory locations and prepare them for shipment according to order specifications.
Pack items securely using appropriate materials, documentation, and packaging methods.
Label and package shipments in accordance with standard operating procedures, including proper documentation for hazardous materials when required.
Operate warehouse equipment such as swing reach trucks, stand-up forklifts, and order pickers after completing required training.
Use warehouse management systems, computers, and scanning equipment to track inventory, process orders, and complete assigned tasks.
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area by following housekeeping standards.
Follow all safety, quality, and compliance guidelines, including procedures for handling chemicals and hazardous materials.
Collaborate with team members and communicate effectively to resolve issues and ensure smooth workflow.
Identify basic problems in the workflow or processes and escalate or help resolve them as appropriate.
Adhere to all standard operating procedures and work instructions related to warehouse operations.
Essential Skills
High school diploma or equivalent.
2+ years of general warehouse experience.
Experience with powered industrial trucks such as order pickers, forklifts, or swing reach trucks.
Experience in order picking, packing, receiving, or put-away operations.
Familiarity with warehouse management systems and basic computer use.
Ability to stand, walk, stoop, bend, and reach for extended periods during the shift.
Comfort working at heights up to 20 feet when operating equipment or accessing inventory.
Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate picking, packing, labeling, and documentation.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a collaborative team.
Ability to read and write in English to understand work instructions, safety procedures, and documentation.
Willingness to follow safety and compliance procedures, including those related to hazardous materials.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience handling hazardous materials, including chemicals, is a plus.
Experience with scanning equipment and RF scanners is a plus.
Experience with shipping and receiving processes is beneficial.
Problem-solving mindset with the ability to identify issues and support process improvements.
Willingness to learn new systems, equipment, and standard operating procedures.
Comfort working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven warehouse environment.

Work Environment
This role is based in a warehouse setting on a first-shift pick and pack team, working Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. You spend most of the day on your feet, walking, standing, bending, stooping, and reaching while handling products and materials. The work involves operating or working around powered industrial trucks such as order pickers, stand-up forklifts, and swing reach trucks, often at heights up to 20 feet. You use warehouse management systems, computers, and scanning equipment to complete tasks and maintain accurate inventory records. The facility emphasizes safety, organization, and cleanliness, with clear procedures for handling chemicals and hazardous materials. Work attire is practical and suitable for a warehouse environment, allowing you to move comfortably and safely while performing physical tasks throughout the shift.

This is a Contract position based out of Agawam, MA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $22.28 - $22.28/hr.
