Expedited Freight Coordinator
JOB SUMMARY: As an Expedited Freight Coordinator, you are responsible for tracking and tracing and ensuring on-time freight pick-up and delivery for national accounts. When there is concern that a customer's freight may not deliver on time, this role is tasked with transferring the trailer to another driver who is legally capable of finishing the trip. This includes exhaustive research, tactical problem-solving, over-communication to all parties, and follow-through.
This is an Onsite office position at the Stevens Transport corporate Headquarters in Dallas, TX.
Key Responsibilities:
Monitoring daily service exception reports
Identifying critical loads at risk of delays and researching efficient relay solutions for minimal disruption
Coordinating timely trailer swaps with nearby drivers using proficient multi-stop routing systems and dispatch procedures
Confirming load plan adjustments with all relevant parties
Addressing and resolving any delays or issues during transit to the arranged trailer swap
Ensuring accurate documentation, including bills of lading, transfer manifests, and shipping records, for all transferred loads
Tracking and tracing all relay plans until the successful delivery to the consignee is completed
Providing regular status updates to customers and stakeholders in a timely manner
Conducting professional internal and external communications with drivers through phone calls and system messages
Generating comprehensive routine and ad-hoc reports as required by management
Collaborating with team members to optimize operational efficiency and customer service
Minimum Qualifications:
Profound understanding of DOT regulations, rules, and company policies concerning Hours of Service
Prior experience in transportation coordination, logistics, or supply chain operations
Exceptional organizational and communication skills
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with rapidly changing priorities
Strong problem-solving capabilities
Ability to effectively and clearly communicate
Preferred Qualifications:
Demonstrated ability to excel in an unpredictable, deadline-driven setting
Preferred: Associates or Bachelor's degree
Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
Proven track record of making sound decisions in routine and emergency scenarios
Strong leadership qualities with a proactive approach
Preference for working collaboratively within a team while also capable of autonomous work
