Description

Anchor Fabrication, a precision metal fabrication company located in Lavergne, Tennessee is seeking an experienced Quality Assurance Inspector for our 2nd shift.
SUMMARY
The Quality Inspector will audit quality procedures and work instructions for compliance. Inspect work-in-process and final product to help ensure that a quality product is being delivered to our customers. The Quality Inspector will record findings, prepares reports and initiates action for problem resolution. They will also perform other duties as assigned by management to ensure that the facility quality requirements are being met.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities

Include but are not limited to the following, other duties may be applied:
Perform inspections and tests per customer specifications and company procedures
Using precision measuring instruments, measure dimensions and clearances of components
Verify standard work procedures and process controls are followed
Read blueprints to determine dimensions and tolerance specifications
Verify accuracy of production gauges and instructions
Interface effectively with all levels of plant personnel
Monitor and evaluate all levels of parts from raw materials to finished goods and shipping containerization
Audit all incoming supplier materials according to certification requirements
Has the Authority and Responsibility to report non-conforming product

Qualifications

Mechanically adept
Blueprint reading skills
Attention to detail
Able to prioritize and work under schedule demands
Good communication skills
Computer literate
Able to read all precision measuring instruments
Ability to read and interpret specifications
Knowledge of shop practices and operations

Education and/or Experience

A high school diploma or equivalent along with;
Product knowledge from a metal stamping, brake and/or welding environment
Previous Quality Inspection experience is preferred

Language Skills

Ability to write reports in the English language
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of supervisors and/or managers in the English language

Mathematical Skills

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions and percentages
Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations
Basic blueprint reading skills
General mathematics
Use and read all precision measuring instruments
Read and interpret specifications

Reasoning Ability

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variable in situations where only limited standardization exists
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables
