As a Tool & Die Maker at Ryerson, you will be responsible for assisting in die repairs and building new tools using manual machine lathes and grinders.
Roles and responsibilities include:
Construction of new dies from print to completion
Reproducing broken details without assistance
Troubleshooting all dies without assistance
Operating all manual machines without assistance
Owning a moderate number of tools needed to perform necessary work
Ensuring that all tools are returned to their proper location, trash is removed, and the floor is free of debris
Keeping tools and equipment clean and in good working condition
Requirements include:
Successfully pass a skills-based assessment - evaluates your reading, math, inspections & measurement, attention to detail, and problem-solving
3-5 years of experience tooling and machinery
TS/ISO Certification is a plus
Crane and Forklift Certified is a plus
Ability to read and interpret blueprints
Mechanically inclined and strong math skills
