Assembly Technician I
Agile Space Industries is seeking an Assembly Technician I to support the production of rocket engines at our manufacturing center in Durango, Colorado. In this role, you will work with our Manufacturing Engineers to support the delivery of high-quality rocket hardware for in-space propulsion and R&D applications. You will assemble and test rocket engines. You will use computer software to track builds and record data related to builds. You will make recommendations for improvements to the build processes and facility equipment. You will handle decontamination of rocket engines after hot fire testing.
Responsibilities
Fabrication, assembly, and test of rocket engine hardware
Maintain a clean and organized shop suitable for high quality aerospace fabrication
Provide ongoing feedback on build and test procedures
Document build processes in a computer-based shop floor management system
Improve processes and tools to make the job easier
Other tasks as assigned
Requirements
Personal commitment to attention to detail and delivering conforming products to our customers
Understand and interpret technical schematics and drawing
Assemble hardware, paying close attention to detail with hardware processing and hardware safety
Test assemblies and components to verify conformance prior to hotfire testing
Work autonomously and take initiative in a high cadence environment
Provide ongoing feedback on hardware and processes to drive manufacturing improvements
Comfortable with change and growth to embrace new techniques as they emerge and upgrade skills to grow professionally along with our business needs
Assist in maintaining work performance records, inspection records, and other related items; assure correctness of all documents
Participate with our team of internal auditors to maintain our QMS (Quality Management System) per AS9100.
Report issues, malfunctions, unusual wear, or damage to appropriate personnel, as required
Safety: Monitor events, materials, and surroundings: Identifying any unsafe situation and notifying an immediate member of management
Minimum Qualifications
Mechanical aptitude and interest in aerospace fabrication and assembly processes
Demonstrated experience working with complex mechanisms and structure
Demonstrated ability to work effectively and collaboratively in team environments
Possess strong oral and written communication skills in English
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Works as a competent member of the team, and willingly provides back-up support for coworkers when appropriate.
Professional phone, email and written correspondence skills required
Proficient in Microsoft Office
Willingness to travel to domestic locations to assist with company events and work overtime as needed
Able to maintain confidential information for the company and within regulatory guidelines required
Reliable commute to ensure punctual attendance to every scheduled workday
Show up to work consistently and on time
Experience in US Space Defense, Civil Space, and Commercial Space sectors a plus but not required
Highly detailed with strong organizational and time management skills

The expected salary range for this role is $21.15-$31.73 an hour. Final compensation will be based on factors such as experience, skills, and internal equity, and is typically made within the midrange, rather than the upper end.
