Key Responsibilities
Welcome and recognize all guests in the spa, according to company standards.
Anticipate and meet the service needs of guests.
Thank guests with genuine appreciation.
Provide professional, quality, and relaxing massage and hydrotherapy services to spa guests.
Be willing to perform all treatments listed on the spa menu and be committed to learning to perform each treatment with perfection and consistency.
Believe that self-care is an essential part of the guest experience and commit to educating spa guests about the importance of self-care at home.
Incorporate product sales into treatments.
Commit to performing a complete consultation before each massage/spa treatment to ensure agreement on the expected outcome of the treatment.
Maintain a broad knowledge of the organization, spa products, and massage services.
Participate in regularly scheduled team meetings with massage therapists and cross-training opportunities.
Participate in advanced training programs and apply learned techniques and practices to improve service quality.
Effectively utilize time management tools.
Address guest requests, resolve issues, and ensure that their needs are met to maintain a positive experience.
Be informed about cultural differences to effectively cater to the diverse needs of all clients.
Know the norms of etiquette and protocols.
Perform all tasks in accordance with hotel policies, procedures, internal rules, and standards.
Be informed about daily hotel operations, review the daily events sheet, bulletin boards, and stay up-to-date with all changes, new procedures, and events.
Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
Report accidents, injuries, and unsafe conditions to the supervisor.
Complete safety training and certifications.
Ensure that the uniform appearance and personal are clean and professional, maintaining the confidentiality of confidential information.
Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others, supporting the team to achieve common goals.
Perform other reasonable tasks as directed by the supervisor.
Qualifications
Hospitality-oriented
Completed a minimum of 1,000 hours in an accredited massage therapy program
Must have a permanent massage therapist license in Puerto Rico
Three years of previous massage experience in a spa
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Able to handle difficult situations effectively
Able to work quickly and efficiently, especially under pressure
Flexibility to receive cross-training in other spa functions/services
Additional credentials in wellness/massages such as Reiki, Reflexology, Craniosacral Therapy, Aromatherapy, myofascial release, and lymphatic techniques are a plus
Ability to work on a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays
Fully bilingual (Spanish and English)
