Shipping Clerk
Snelling is recruiting for experienced Shipping Clerk for a global sealing solutions provider based in Alabaster, Alabama. The Shipping Clerk is responsible for fulfilling orders, working both independently and on a team. Package all orders for customer deliveries, pick-ups and shipments. All products must be packaged securely and addressed properly to arrive at its destination timely intact and with no damage.
Pay: $18 - $20/hr, depending on experience Schedule: 1st shift, Monday-Friday, some weekend work as needed
Essential Job Functions For Shipping Clerk:
Accurately package, label, and weigh items to be shipped ensuring proper shipment method and shipping charges.
Ensure all shipments receive the proper labeling and postal charges and are packaged to arrive safely.
Prepare detailed and accurate invoices according to shipping procedures and ensure all items are packaged and shipped to company standards.
Work with other shipping clerks to ensure all invoices are handled properly and promptly.
Schedule pickup and delivery of merchandise by common carriers.
Track packages using computer system.
Ensure work is done safely and meets quality standards.
Take inventory at designated schedule times during the year.
Experience/Qualifications Required For Shipping Clerk:
2-3 years in a manufacturing/industrial environment, preferred.
Minimum of 1-3 years of work experience involving shipping related tasks is preferred.
Must be able to operate a lift truck and forklift in a professional and safe manner.
MUST have Bills of Lading experience
Must be detail oriented, self-motivated and disciplined with the ability to multi-task.
Must have computer skills and the ability to learn new software programs.
