Universal Banker

Universal Bankers are the Customer Ambassadors for Sterling Federal Bank, and they provide efficient and quality service to customers. Universal Bankers are responsible for conducting teller transactions and cash vault transactions in an accurate and timely manner as well as providing sales and servicing of all bank products and services. Providing operational support and exceptional customer service while maintaining essential controls and safeguards is also an essential part of the responsibilities of a Universal Banker.
Precise Roles, Tasks & Responsibilities
Receives checks and cash for deposit to savings and checking accounts, verifies deposit amounts, examines checks for endorsement and negotiability, and posts transactions into bank records via an on-line terminal.
Cashes check and pays money from savings and checking account upon verification of signatures and customer account balances.
Troubleshoots and resolves customer and internal inquiries in a timely, professional and accurate manner.
Informs and advises customers of status or enhancements to current account productivity and suggests resolution on account disputes and other account activity.
Understands bank products/services and the customer's current relationship, offers information on bank products and services that can benefit the customer and enhance their banking relationship.
Evaluates the needs of potential customers and offers appropriate financial products and services.
Bond and redemptions of bonds
IRA account opening and processing
Provide support for branch operations as needed
Additional responsibilities as required
Available to work 7:45 - 5 Monday through Thursday
7:45- 5:30 Friday
7:45

12:30 Saturday, half day off the week that a Saturday is scheduled
Average hours worked will be 37-40 hours per week

Requirements
Six months to two years of similar or related experience, including time spent in preparatory positions. Two years of previous experience preferred. A high school degree is required. Courtesy and tact are essential elements of the job. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel preferred. Attendance and reliability are crucial.
