Our client, a leading global construction management firm, is seeking an experienced
Project Director
to lead a large-scale,
ground-up data center project in Virginia . This is a senior leadership role responsible for full lifecycle delivery of a complex, mission‑critical facility from early‑stage planning through commissioning and final turnover.
The successful candidate will bring deep experience in managing large commercial or mission‑critical construction projects, with a strong emphasis on data centers, MEP coordination, and field execution leadership. This role requires both strategic oversight and direct involvement in day‑to‑day construction operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead end‑to‑end execution of a large‑scale data center project from preconstruction through completion and commissioning
Direct on‑site construction activities in partnership with field leadership and general superintendent
Serve as primary liaison between executive leadership, client representatives, design consultants, subcontractors, and stakeholders
Develop and execute overall project strategy, ensuring alignment with schedule, budget, safety, and quality requirements
Oversee financial performance including forecasting, cost control, and change order management
Coordinate across all major disciplines including civil, structural, architectural, mechanical, electrical, and commissioning teams
Lead project team structure, including recruitment, onboarding, and management of key personnel
Champion and enforce a zero‑incident safety culture across all site operations
Manage relationships with local authorities, inspectors, and permitting agencies
Resolve complex construction and coordination challenges in real time
Ensure delivery of all contractual milestones and project objectives
Key Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or equivalent experience
12+ years of construction management experience with senior leadership responsibility
Proven track record delivering ground‑up data centers or other mission‑critical projects
Experience with large general contractors or construction management firms
Prior experience in roles such as Project Director, Project Executive, or Senior Project Manager
Strong technical understanding of MEP systems and complex building infrastructure
Demonstrated experience managing large budgets, forecasting, and change order processes
Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project management tools
Ability to operate effectively in a fast‑paced, site‑based environment with multiple priorities
Fully site‑based role requiring active field leadership presence
