Construction Claims Specialist

***Previous construction experience is required for this position within our Construction Practice***
Position Summary: In this role, you will work directly with clients to assist with all claims falling within the programs we have placed in our Construction Practice. In addition, you will assist with various Risk Management needs such as claims program development and training. Our mission is to provide best in class claims services to our clients and advocate on their behalf.
Primary Responsibilities:
Serve as an experienced technical resource (both internally and externally) as respects any claim activities for clients
Established liaison between Client/CRP/Carrier/TPA on all claim related matters
Assist and aid with developing Risk Management Programs and Policies for clients within our Construction Practice group
Participate in new business/prospect meetings
Develop solid relationships with key third party vendor experts including Defense Counsel, TPAs, Adjustment Firms, etc.
Organize, facilitate and participate in any claim related meetings with carrier and TPA partners
Participate in Stewardship Meetings with account team as you will be responsible for leading the claims discussion as the SME in this space
Assist in reporting new losses for clients, including reviewing for proper notice to appropriate coverages and following through to claim closure
Work with Client and Construction practice Client Executives and Directors to create standardized wording in contracts for both Additional Insured and Defense & Indemnification language
Review contracts for potential tender opportunities and discuss merits with Carrier/TPA partners
Develop Special Account Instructions for clients to be used in the handling of their claims with carrier/TPA partners
Provide Emergency Claims Response to clients on an as needed basis
Develop and maintain strong working relationship with insurers, wholesale brokers, and other strategic industry partners
Participate as requested in developing and executing our Construction Practices' corporate level goals and initiatives
Provide strategic support and technical expertise to other Construction Practice / Commercial Risk offices as requested
Comply with agency management system processes and procedures
Other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities and Requirements:
Prior experience lending to Construction Claims is a mandatory requirement for this position
Bachelor's Degree is required
10-15+ years of Property and Casualty claims experience, with strong exposure to and experience specifically lending to construction
Strong working knowledge of policy language and coverage (multiple lines of coverage a plus)
Solid organizational and collaborative abilities
Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong working knowledge of various computer systems including MS Office and its various applications. As well as familiarity with various claims and RMIS systems
AIC/SCLA/CPCU/ARM/LPC certification, professional designations are desired
The starting pay for this position is $145,000 - $150,000+ annually. Salary is negotiable upon time of hire.
