Job Summary:
Provide excellent customer service.
Maintain safe, secure and healthy work environment by establishing and following policies and procedures.
Prepare patient for exam by collecting medical history, vital signs and required clinical information.
Document current medications and all allergies for each patient.
Assist provider during testing, examinations and procedure(s) when needed.
Follow provider's instructions to complete patient treatment.
Provide and record all medications and immunizations ordered by provider and given to the patient.
Take patient specimen and conduct laboratory test(s) ordered by the provider.
Stock rooms.
Keep supplies ready by taking inventory of stock; communicate to the manager when an order needs to be placed.
Perform administrative duties such as answering incoming calls, returning calls, verifying lab and x-ray reports are received.
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required with Certification as a Medical assistant preferred.
Experience:
1-year previous experience in a clinical or hospital environment preferred.
Additional Skills/Abilities:
Excellent assessment skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team setting.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Work independently and effectively in a busy environment.
Knowledgeable of EMRs and regulatory practices.
