Ira Certificate Technician

As a proficient IRA Certificate Tech, you will be responsible for managing and executing the end-to-end process of handling accounts associated with IRA's and Certificates with a high level of proficiency. Your primary role will involve verifying, documenting, and processing complex Individual Retirement Accounts (IRA) requests, IRA Rollovers, IRA Transfers, IRA Withdrawals, Required Minimum Distribution (RMD) and IRA Term-Savings Certificate products and services in compliance with established policies and regulatory requirements within industry standards. The position involves meticulous record-keeping, effective communication with internal teams, and members. The IRA Certificate Tech should have sound knowledge of IRA functions and procedures within the industry, strong attention to detail, and the ability to navigate complex situations with professionalism. Additionally, the role may involve indirect contact with legal and compliance departments to ensure adherence to industry standards. Assist with dormant and escheat processing as it relates to IRA's and Certificates as well as researching deceased members account before disbursing beneficiary IRA funds.
Tasks, Duties, Functions:

Verification and Documentation: Verify and meticulously document all relevant information pertaining to IRA's and Certificates, ensuring accuracy, authenticity, and completeness.
Regulatory Compliance: Stay updated on financial industry regulations for IRA's and Certificates and ensure that all procedures related to IRA's and Certificate accounts adhere to these standards. Must successfully maintain all IRA regulatory and compliance courses and apply knowledge to daily tasks. Understand contribution limits, and distribution rules.
Record-Keeping: Maintain organized and detailed records of all interactions, transactions, and communications related to IRA's and Certificate accounts. Excellent organizational skills and time management to manage multiple tasks and meet sensitive deadlines.
Communication: Strong written and verbal communication with members and internal teams, while demonstrating professionalism.
Phone Call responsibilities: Manage heavy call volumes while maintaining call handling times and being evaluated on key performance indicators, such as call resolution time, member satisfaction and adherence to company protocols.
Account Maintenance: Review and adjust IRA investments that align with member's requests and tax laws and regulations. In addition to preparing and index documents accurately.
Problem Resolution: Address and correct issues or discrepancies with the ability to navigate complex IRA situations with tact and diplomacy.
Training and Development: Stay informed about industry best practices and participate in training sessions to enhance proficiency in performing the tasks associated with IRA and Certificate account processing. Maintain IRA certification.
Collaborate with next of kin, and other relevant parties to obtain necessary documentation and information required for IRA beneficiary disbursement and account closure.
Digital expectation: Identify and propose process optimization, with a digital innovation focus, to enhance the operational performance. Support implementation of digitally focused projects, which include participating in testing new IRA solutions.
Engagement participation: Foster a positive, inclusive work environment that inspires others through words and actions; motivate other employees by embracing and practicing Golden 1's mission, vision, and core values.
Dormant and Escheatment: Seek out members with IRA's and Certificates to prevent their funds from being escheated to the State.
Physical Skills, Abilities, and Exertion Utilized in the Performance of These Tasks:

Proficient in using relevant computer applications and software.
Proven ability to analyze situations, identify issues, and implement effective solutions.
High levels of knowledge of complex IRA and Certificate processes.
Organizational Contacts & Relationships:

Internal: Ability to collaborate and work effectively with cross-functional teams and internal stakeholders.
External: Collaborate with third party, members, and agencies.
Qualifications:

Education: Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent. A bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business administration or a related field is preferred.
Experience: 2 years of hands-on experience specifically in IRA account processing within the financial services industry, demonstrating a deep understanding of the intricacies and complexity of managing such accounts. 1 year experience with IRA Escheatment and Dormant account handling. 3 years of experience in member service with strong background in operational knowledge in the financial industry.
Knowledge / Skills: Certification on IRA and Certificate account handling or experience and skills equipped to handle the complexities and challenges associated with this role.

Physical Requirements:

Prolonged sitting throughout the workday with occasional mobility required.
Corrected vision within the normal range.
Hearing within normal range. A device to enhance hearing will be provided if needed.
Occasional movements throughout the department daily to interact with staff, accomplish tasks, etc.
Extensive PC data entry and processing throughout the workday.
Licenses / Certifications:

Escheatment and Dormant Training/Certification.
Certification in IRA and Certificate account management.
