Vegetation Technician
Company: Davey Tree Surgery Company Locations: Arroyo Grande, CA, Santa Cruz, CA, Watsonville, CA Work Site: On Site Req ID: 223234 Compensation Data $26.43/hr - $30.84/hr depending on skills and qualifications. This is TEMPORARY opportunity starting May 1st through August 31st.
Job Duties
Maintain standard levels of vegetation in the area surrounding utility poles by:
Applying herbicides to control weeds and grasses
Using equipment to maintain appropriate levels of vegetation
Following contracts for work requirements and job specifications
Collect data to monitor and manage levels of invasive species of vegetation
Properly maintain, calibrate, and operate all tools and equipment including, chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts and more.
Qualifications
Love of the outdoors
Ability to complete Electrical Hazard Awareness Program and OSHA training
Ability to complete the Davey Tree First Aid, CPR and defensive driving course upon hire
Required: valid driver's license
Preferred: Commercial Driver's License-Class A or B with Airbrake Endorsement
Preferred: vegetation control experience or other related work
Preferred: relevant pesticide and related licenses and certificates, if required by state law
Preferred: ISA Certified Arborist, ISA Certified Tree Worker, and/or TCIA Certified Tree Care Safety Professional
