Staff Accountant Responsibilities

• Assist with daily accounting operations, including journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations.


• Support month-end and year-end close processes.


• Maintain general ledger accounts, including cash, fixed assets, and expenses.


• Prepare and reconcile balance sheet and select income statement accounts.


• Help prepare monthly financial statements and management reports.


• Research and resolve discrepancies and variances.


• Assist with external audits and prepare supporting documentation.


• Perform bank reconciliations and resolve banking issues.


• Support accounting systems and process improvements.


• Provide backup support for AP/AR and assist with special projects.

Staff Accountant Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required


• 0–4 years of relevant experience (internships included).


• Working knowledge of GAAP and accounting fundamentals.


• Proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office.
