Recreation Program Coordinator
Job Description
Under the supervision of the Recreation Supervisor, the Recreation Program Coordinator will assist with the coordination of a full-day summer camp for youth.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Assist Supervisor to coordinate and lead the implementation of a variety of youth recreational opportunities ensuring safety and quality experiences for participants.
Coordinate and supervise youth summer camp, activities, playground program, and trips.
Correspondence with parents, transportation companies, and trip destination businesses.
Staff training, supervision, and scheduling.
Provide exceptional customer service, including communication both verbally and in writing.
Coordinate facility/outdoor space schedules.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
Experience working in municipal recreation, education or with youth camps or similar.
Strong communication and customer service skills.
Must be able to provide own transportation.
Must have a valid driver's license.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in in Recreation, Parks & Recreation, Parks & Leisure Services or two (2) years of study in post-secondary related curriculum.
Experience working with Recreation Software and Microsoft Office Programs
Working Condition And Physical Requirements:
Ability to bend, stoop, twist, lift and grip.
Ability to lift 50 pounds
Additional Information
Seasonal position, 40 hours per week. Hours include weekdays and can range between 7:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. Approximate start date: No later than May 14, 2026. Approximate end date: No later than August 25, 2026. This position will mainly work out of the Johnny Cake Activity Center and the Apple Valley Community Center Offer of employment will be contingent upon successful completion of a background check.
