Job Title: HR/Payroll Coordinator
Location: Greater New Haven Area (Onsite)


Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented HR/Payroll Coordinator to support day-to-day human resources operations with a strong emphasis on payroll processing. This role will serve as a key point of contact for employees and leadership, ensuring accurate payroll, compliance with policies, and smooth HR administration. The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, and comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.


Key Responsibilities



  • Process weekly and/or biweekly payroll from start to finish, ensuring accuracy and timeliness

  • Maintain and update employee records within HRIS and payroll systems

  • Manage timekeeping, including review and reconciliation of employee hours, PTO, and approvals

  • Administer new hire onboarding, including I-9 verification, tax forms, and system setup

  • Support benefits administration, including enrollments, changes, and employee inquiries

  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and internal policies

  • Assist with employee relations matters, responding to general HR questions and concerns

  • Prepare reports related to payroll, headcount, and HR metrics as needed

  • Coordinate with accounting on payroll reconciliations and general ledger alignment

  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive employee and organizational information


Qualifications



  • 2+ years of experience in payroll, HR coordination, or a related role

  • Strong understanding of payroll processes, tax withholdings, and compliance requirements

  • Experience with HRIS and/or payroll systems

  • High attention to detail with strong organizational skills

  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion

  • Strong communication skills and a customer-service mindset

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and general office systems


Preferred Experience



  • Exposure to multi-state payroll

  • Experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment

  • Familiarity with timekeeping systems and payroll integrations
