Key Responsibilities of the Controller
• Oversee all accounting operations including general ledger, AP/AR, payroll, and fixed assets
• Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, including internal and external statements
• Develop, implement, and improve accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls
• Lead audit processes and serve as the primary point of contact for external auditors
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis in partnership with leadership
• Oversee procurement and contract-related financial processes
• Partner cross-functionally to ensure alignment across departments and financial operations
• Lead, mentor, and develop accounting staff to drive performance and accountability
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable regulatory requirements
Qualifications for the Controller
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience with leadership responsibilities
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting
• Experience in multi-entity, government, or non-profit accounting environments preferred
• CPA or advanced degree is a plus
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
