About the Opportunity
We’re partnering with a growing, nationally recognized healthcare organization that is expanding its financial operations team. This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional who enjoys digging into data, understanding cost drivers, and partnering with operations to improve financial visibility.
As a Job Costing Accountant, you’ll play a key role in tracking, analyzing, and validating costs across multiple operational workflows—helping ensure accuracy, efficiency, and informed decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
Cost Tracking & Analysis (50%)
- Perform detailed cost analysis across operational workflows, including inventory and service-related expenses
- Execute three-way matching and reconcile data across multiple systems to ensure accurate cost allocation
- Analyze variances between actual and expected costs, identifying trends and opportunities for improvement
Month-End Close & Cost Reporting (25%)
- Support and help lead month-end close activities with a focus on cost accuracy and completeness
- Prepare cost-related journal entries, reconciliations, and reporting schedules
- Partner with internal teams to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting tied to operational costs
Project & Capital Cost Oversight (25%)
- Track and monitor capital expenditures and project-related costs, ensuring proper classification and reporting
- Maintain supporting schedules for fixed assets, depreciation, and cost capitalization
- Collaborate with corporate accounting and operations on budgeting, forecasting, and cost control initiatives
What You Bring
- ~5+ years of accounting experience, with exposure to cost accounting, job costing, or project-based accounting
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
- Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret large data sets and translate into actionable insights
- Advanced Excel skills (Pivot Tables, LOOKUPs, complex formulas; Power Query or SQL is a plus)
- Experience with ERP systems (Oracle Fusion preferred) and reconciliation tools (Blackline a plus)
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
