Position Highlights

The Department of Economics at the University of Arizona, Eller College of Management, invites applications for a Visiting Assistant Professor position starting August 17, 2026. The role welcomes candidates whose research focuses on applied microeconomics, broadly defined. The faculty member will teach courses at the graduate or undergraduate levels and contribute to mentoring students, while maintaining an excellent research record.
Duties & Responsibilities

Perform significant and continuing scholarly research in applied microeconomics.
Publish in leading academic journals.
Teach in undergraduate or graduate programs.
Train and mentor doctoral students.
Minimum Qualifications

Ph.D. in Economics or a related field from an accredited institution by the start date.
Evidence of research productivity.
Experience teaching at the university level.
Preferred Qualifications

Experience teaching undergraduate Business Strategy or related courses, including work with business school students and demonstrated knowledge of Industrial Organization concepts relevant to Business Strategy.
Demonstrated research interests aligned with department strengths in one or more of the following areas: Industrial Organization, Labor Economics, Environmental and Energy Economics, or Economic History.
