Compounder
The Compounder prepares and processes fragrance, personal care, and chemical batches by following approved formulas, batch sheets, and standard operating procedures. This role ensures that all batches meet strict standards for accuracy, safety, quality, and consistency while supporting a fast-moving, project-based production environment. The position offers the opportunity to work on recognizable consumer products and collaborate closely with Quality Control, Production, and R&D teams.
Responsibilities
Prepare and compound fragrance, personal care, and chemical batches according to approved formulas, batch sheets, and SOPs, ensuring accuracy and consistency.
Weigh, measure, and handle raw materials with precision, following GMP, safety, and quality standards at all times.
Mix and blend ingredients using appropriate methods and equipment to achieve the desired batch characteristics.
Monitor batches during processing for quality, appearance, and conformance to established specifications.
Document all batch activities, including material usage, process parameters, and any deviations, to ensure full traceability and regulatory compliance.
Collaborate closely with Quality Control, Production, and R&D teams to troubleshoot batch issues and implement effective corrective actions.
Support batch reworks when necessary, following defined procedures to bring products back into specification.
Help maintain production schedules by organizing work efficiently and communicating any delays or issues promptly.
Follow all Good Manufacturing Practices and safety procedures to maintain a clean, safe, and compliant work area.
Participate in continuous improvement efforts to enhance batch quality, process reliability, and operational efficiency.
Essential Skills
2+ years of GMP experience in personal care, over-the-counter (OTC), or pharmaceutical manufacturing environments.
2+ years of experience accurately measuring ingredients and working with emulsions, with an understanding of underlying processes and principles.
Hands-on experience with chemical mixing, compounding, and blending operations.
Strong attention to detail to ensure precise weighing, measuring, and documentation of materials and process parameters.
Ability to follow batch sheets, formulas, SOPs, and quality standards with a high level of accuracy.
Demonstrated ability to work safely with chemicals and raw materials in a production setting.
Effective communication skills to work closely with QC, Production, and R&D teams.
Team-oriented mindset with the ability to collaborate across departments in a fast-paced environment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience in the pharmaceutical, OTC, or personal care industry, particularly in batch compounding or mixing roles.
Familiarity with emulsions and their behavior in personal care or chemical formulations.
Agility and adaptability to support multiple projects, new product launches, reformulations, and scale-ups.
Strong problem-solving skills to assist in troubleshooting batch issues and supporting rework activities.
Proactive, collaborative approach and willingness to support other departments as needed.
Work Environment
This role operates in a fast-paced, project-based manufacturing environment where multiple brand portfolios and formulations run simultaneously. Compounders work on products that are widely recognized and frequently found on major retail shelves, supporting fragrances, personal care items, and specialty chemical applications. The position involves close collaboration with Quality Control, laboratory, and R&D teams, offering regular exposure to new product launches, reformulations, and scale-ups. The environment emphasizes adherence to GMP, safety, and quality standards, with a strong focus on teamwork, problem-solving, and continuous improvement.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $26.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
