Who You Are: Museum of Ice Cream is looking for an eager and ambitious Ice Cream Handler to join our fun-filled team. You are collaborative, adaptable, and self motivated! The ideal candidate will also be able to function in a fast-paced, busy environment as a part of a team. Most importantly, you are creative at heart and have a passion for ice cream and other tasty treats.
Your Day-to-Day:
Follow the prep list created by MOIC leadership to plan duties
Maintain food storage facilities at the highest level such as walk coolers and freezers
Ensure dishwashing equipment and area is always maintained to the highest standards
Responsible for stocking ice cream stations in various rooms in the museum
Label and stock all ingredients on shelves so they can be organized and easily accessible
Undertake basic cooking duties such as making syrups, cutting garnishes, etc.
Maintain the back of house area by keeping clean and orderly kitchen operations and wash, sanitize and disinfect surfaces
Ensure all food and other items are stored properly
Comply with nutrition and sanitation guidelines
Perform other kitchen/cafe/bar duties as assigned
Assist in washing and restocking glassware for bar/ cafe items
Serve ice cream and other treats to guests while maintaining high standards of presentation and cleanliness
Requirements:
You are 18 years or older
Have open availability including weekends
1+ year of previous preparation/ line cook experience in high volume establishments
You have the ability to be on your feet for long periods of time, up to 8 hours
Food Handler or ServeSafe certification required
Ability to lift heavy objects of up to 40 pounds
Ability to improvise under a multitude of circumstances
