Associate, Office of the Founder & Co-CEO
B. Riley Securities, Los Angeles, CA, United States
Associate, Office of the Founder & Co-CEO
This is a rare opportunity for a highly motivated early-career professional to work directly for an executive of a leading middle-market investment bank. This is not a traditional entry-level role. You will start in a predominantly administrative capacity
but with a front-row seat to the deals, relationships, and decisions moving through the office of an executive. As you grow into the business, the role will grow with you, evolving from support-oriented work into increasingly technical and substantive responsibilities. For the right person, this is an unparalleled mentorship opportunity and an accelerated path into the world of investment banking.
The role begins with a strong administrative foundation, and as you learn the business, your responsibilities will grow increasingly technical and substantive. As an AI-focused firm, proficiency with Claude and other AI tools is a core expectation of this role.
Primary Responsibilities
Accompany the Founder & Co-CEO throughout the business day, capturing meeting notes and action items
Manage and organize priorities, communications, and follow-through on outstanding items

Coordinate logistics for internal and external meetings, calls, and travel
Conduct research and provide background preparation ahead of meetings and engagements
Assist with special projects across the firm
Act as a reliable, discreet, and proactive extension
Provide strategic feedback and observations directly as you develop familiarity with the business, clients, and firm operations
Qualifications

03 years of professional experience; recent graduates are strongly encouraged to apply
Exceptional organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail
Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
High degree of discretion and professionalism
the ability to handle sensitive information with maturity and sound judgment
Proactive, self-starting work style; anticipates needs rather than waiting to be directed
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, unstructured environment and pivot quickly
Strong interpersonal skills and executive presence
Genuine curiosity about finance, capital markets, and the investment banking business
Genuinely eager to learn
hungry for knowledge, driven to grow, and excited by the opportunity to build a career from the ground up
Ability to multitask, prioritize, and perform under pressure amid tight deadlines; can effectively manage competing demands with a strong sense of urgency and responsiveness
Thrives in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial, high-performance work environment
Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite required
Proficiency with Claude and other AI tools required; candidates who are not yet proficient must demonstrate the ability and drive to get there fast.
