Shift Supervisor

The Shift Supervisor has the qualifications and business acumen to supervise manufacturing operations. The Shift Supervisor will play a key role in ensuring product quality, training, safety, reporting, and housekeeping.
Job duties and responsibilities include:
Ensuring all tasks are performed in a safe manner and are responsible for the safe performance of their team members.
Responsible for active promotion and completion of all safety initiatives, including HIBOs and Convergence.
Ensuring team members are following job safety and will confront any unsafe acts observed, as well as give positive feedback.
Understanding and fully utilizing all ISO procedures, control charts, histograms, CpK, and other SPC tools and measurements; recommending improvements based on statistical data and observation.
Developing, implementing, and maintaining operational procedures and controls to ensure the product meets customer-required and recognized quality standards.
Preparing and analyzing reports and making recommendations for improvements.
Coordinating, reviewing, and communicating customer specifications/changes.
Actively participating in continuous improvement initiatives for the Safety, Quality, Logistics, Process, and Operations teams.
Driving the training and development of team members.
Understanding and helping positively communicate changes in business situations, production schedules, and company policies.
Responsible for presenting his/her asset results in meetings. This includes being able to explain what happened to drive downtime, waste, quality, rate, and other occurrences, as well as how to prevent these occurrences in the future.
Responsible for the accurate completion of all paperwork and data entry, including but not limited to production and downtime reports, incident reports, and the distribution of specifications.
Responsible for safety, product, process, and compliance audits; training of new team members; and team member certifications and recertifications.
Communicating effectively with internal customers as well as peers and to solve problems and enhance capabilities of the team.
Ensuring required information is disseminated to the team through effective communication meetings, postings, and other methods as needed.
Assisting operators and coordinating troubleshooting activities. Referring to the process tech/engineer for root-cause solutions to recurring problems.
Responsible for completion and communication of performance reviews, conflict resolution, training and development, and potential challenges or opportunities as identified.
Preparing safety and incident reporting when appropriate.
Safely operating all equipment needed to perform job.
Performing other duties as assigned.
Education and experience:
Minimum Highschool Diploma/GED, Postsecondary education preferred, or equivalent to 5 years of manufacturing supervision experience. 5 years of experience working in manufacturing.

Ability to read and take American units of measurements for weight, volume, distance, etc.
Physical ability to occasionally bend over and lift 25 pounds and pull dryer wire
Physical ability to stand for the majority of the 12-hour shift
Working conditions:
Ability to work flexible 12-hour shifts following a 14 day pattern of 2 days on, 2 days off, 3 days on, 2 days off, 2 days on, and then 3 off. Shift hours: 6:45PM - 7:00AM.
