Your role involves safely and efficiently building wood crates using blueprints and power tools to meet customer specifications for quality and on-time delivery. You will log in and out of jobs in the Ops Center to track jobs and follow production schedules. You'll also follow safety and personal protective equipment requirements.
What you'll be doing includes:
Building various sized wood crates while safely using power tools
Using tape measure to ensure the measurements match the cut sheet up to 1/8th inch
Safe ladder use required when assembling the tops of crates
May need to assemble bases or skids for crates on the ground. This requires use of a 20 pound, 3.5-inch nail gun while crouching and/or kneeling
Able to read, interpret, find, and document possible cut sheet and/or stenciling errors
Use of adhesives to apply foam to wood crates and conduct specification checks
Efficiently perform work according to standard operating procedures
Follow all procedures, policies and understand equipment use, before use
To ensure safety, report equipment defects and/or maintenance needs to your supervisor
To help protect yourself and others, please report any unsafe acts to your supervisor
What we'd like to see from you:
Required:
3 months of experience in carpentry, construction and/or landscaping
Use of dimensional and electrical power tools and motorized equipment
Basic computer skills to use Ops Center to log in & out of jobs with employee ID number
Preferred:
High School diploma or GED
Bilingual (English/Spanish)
Forklift experience
