Substitute Bus Driver
The Substitute Bus Driver is responsible for safely transporting students to and from school, athletic events, and other school-related activities. This is a substitute position, which means the employee will work on an as-needed basis.
Responsibilities:
Safely operate a school bus and transport students to and from school, athletic events, and other school-related activities
Follow all traffic laws and safety regulations while driving the bus
Maintain a clean and safe bus environment for students
Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the bus to ensure it is in good working condition
Communicate with school administration and parents regarding bus routes and schedules
Manage student behavior on the bus and enforce school district policies and procedures
Assist students with getting on and off the bus safely
Report any accidents, incidents, or mechanical issues to the appropriate school personnel
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent
Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with passenger and school bus endorsements
Clean driving record
Ability to pass a background check and drug test
Ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, and school personnel
Knowledge of traffic laws and safety regulations related to school bus transportation
Ability to manage student behavior and enforce school district policies and procedures
Flexibility to work on an as-needed basis
