Quality Assurance Technician
Responsible for analyzing data, calibrating equipment and developing procedures. Conducts audits, inspection plans, trainings, quality documentation, and control of nonconforming materials as well participate in root cause analysis for continuous process improvement. Ensures adherence to established safety standards and approved manufacturing practices for STI products.
Duties
Analyze inspection data to identify trends and causes of failures.
Identify and manage materials that do not conform to quality standards, ensuring proper handling and resolution.
Maintain thorough records of inspection and testing activities, as well as decisions regarding material disposition, as required.
Accurately document inspection results, testing data, and material disposition
Raw Material Inspection: routine/specialized analyses of raw materials, in-process items, and finished products using a variety of testing devices and procedures to ensure product quality.
Organize and schedule inspection activities at off-site locations or vendor facilities.
Evaluate and determine the appropriate handling of customer returns (RMAs), including repackaging when necessary, and collaborate with relevant parties to ensure proper resolution.
Update and manage the movement of materials within the inventory control system (ERP) to ensure accurate tracking and notification to all relevant parties.
Develop and update QC procedures, work instructions, and technical documentation for process improvement. Train others in this process.
Responsible for audit preparation and activities, as directed by Engineer or Quality Manager
Maintain Quality Hold Area to ensure compliance
Qualifications
Required Skills & Competencies
Attention to detail and ability to develop and follow written procedures
Ability to read specifications, labels, and work instructions
Strong analytical and mathematical skills to detect patterns & predict trends.
Experience in lean initiatives and continuous process improvement
Education/Experience Requirements
Associate degree a plus
Manufacturing background required
Advanced skills with experience in MRP and Inventory systems.
Knowledge of quality systems and industry standards
4-5 years of experience in Quality Control
Full familiarity with manual and automated measurement instrumentation is required.
ASQ or CQT certification a plus.
