An advanced manufacturing organization is seeking a skilled CNC Machinist / Operator with hands-on experience operating both lathes and milling machines, including multi-axis equipment. This role supports precision machining operations in a fast-paced, high-performance environment.
The ideal candidate has strong experience with 3-axis and 5-axis mills, as well as lathe operations, and is comfortable working with modern CNC equipment and tight tolerances.
Key Responsibilities
Operate CNC lathes and milling machines (3-axis and 5-axis).
Set up, run, and monitor machining processes to ensure precision and quality.
Work with advanced equipment, including 5-axis milling machines and precision lathes.
Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
Perform tool changes, offsets, and adjustments to maintain part accuracy.
Inspect finished parts using measurement tools to ensure compliance with tolerances.
Maintain equipment and ensure a clean, safe work environment.
Collaborate with engineering and programming teams to improve machining processes.
Required Qualifications
Proven experience operating both CNC mills and lathes.
Experience with 3-axis and 5-axis machining.
Strong understanding of machining principles, tolerances, and materials.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Preferred Experience
Experience with high-precision machining environments.
Familiarity with advanced CNC equipment (e.g., multi-axis mills, Swiss-style or precision lathes).
Experience supporting aerospace, defense, or high-performance manufacturing.
Additional Requirements
Candidates must be based in Texas.
Preference for candidates local to Leander / Austin area.
