We are looking for a highly motivated Account Executive with experience in consultative sales to join our Health and Human Services team. In this role, you will focus on selling our cloud-based software solution to state and local government agencies in child welfare and adjacent HHS domains. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in enterprise sales, a deep understanding of public sector programs and purchasing processes, and the ability to build trusted relationships with a variety of key stakeholders.

We are uniquely positioned to address a funding requirement that jurisdictions need to solve immediately. Our proven use case and established customer base have garnered credibility and interest within state and local governments nationwide, and we are expanding our sales team to keep up with demand.
As an Account Executive, your primary objective will be to leverage your domain expertise and interpersonal skills to deeply understand and address business requirements, position our solutions effectively, and foster long-term partnerships. Maintaining a collaborative team culture is essential. Individual and collaborative efforts are both required to be successful at Lyssn.
Lyssn, io, Inc. is based out of Seattle, WA. The majority of work can be conducted remotely through telecommuting. The applicant must be able to accommodate clients on the West Coast. Travel to customer sites, conferences, and in-person Lyssn team meetings is required approximately 6-10 times a year.
Essential Functions
Sales Strategy:
Develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy to achieve revenue goals within an assigned territory, to include prospecting, qualifying, and closing activities
Pipeline Management:
Maintain a robust sales pipeline, leveraging CRM tools to track opportunities, document sales activities, and generate accurate forecasts
Consultative Selling:
Engage with prospective customers in a consultative sales capacity to align our products, recommendations, and use cases with their unique challenges and requirements. Must be competent at pitching, negotiating, and closing
Stakeholder Engagement:
Establish and nurture relationships with decision-makers, including agency directors, program managers, IT leaders, and procurement officials
Proposal Development:
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to negotiate SOWs, proposals, and presentations
Cross-functional Collaboration:
Work closely with marketing, product, customer success, and sales to execute go-to-market strategies and ensure a seamless customer experience
Industry Expertise:
Stay informed about trends, challenges, and regulatory changes within the child welfare and government sectors to position Lyssn as a trusted advisor
Technology Proficiency:
Utilize a suite of platforms to complete work remotely and conduct business in alignment with company processes and quality standards
Requirements
Candidates are required to demonstrate the following skills
8-10 years of sales experience, with at least 4 years selling technology solutions to state and local government agencies. Experience selling SaaS or in the child welfare domain preferred
Proven success in enterprise SaaS sales. Experience selling SaaS to child welfare or other HHS entities preferred
Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively convey technical concepts to non-technical audiences. You must be comfortable presenting to stakeholders across the entire government organization hierarchy
Ability to pick up new concepts, processes, and technologies quickly
Proficiency with CRM software (e.g., HubSpot), Adobe, Microsoft 365, and Google Suite
Ability to travel for client engagements, industry events, and internal off-site meetings
Bachelor's degree in business, public administration, social work, or a related field preferred
Additional Requirements:
Strong understanding of competitive and non-competitive purchasing and decision-maker roles within state and local governments
Exemplary teamwork and collaborative spirit
Understanding of large-scale EBP implementations and evaluations, including activities such as fidelity monitoring. Knowledge of implementation science, change management, or FFPSA legislation, a plus
Salary Range
Compensation package includes base salary plus commission, commensurate with experience. Expected OTE range is $190,000 to $220,000 with the opportunity to exceed the range with high performance. New Lyssn employees may be granted stock options (subject to board approval).
