Job Summary: This full-time Medical Assistant role involves working varied shifts including three 12-hour weekday shifts from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., and two 12-hour weekday shifts plus two weekend shifts from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The position supports healthcare delivery and patient care management in a clinical setting, adapting daily duties to meet the practice's needs.
Essential Responsibilities:
Provide direct and delegated patient care, maintaining awareness of normal and abnormal patient parameters to identify those at risk. Deliver care aligned with established standards and guidelines. Manage telephone triage with appropriate responses, offering reassurance, education, and guidance to patients.
Facilitate efficient healthcare service delivery throughout patient visits. Ensure medical records are accurate, complete, and up to date. Initiate patient contact, prepare patients for examination, and collect vital signs and medical history. Monitor patients for abnormal signs, communicate findings to physicians, and document accordingly. Confirm patient understanding of physician instructions upon discharge and accurately document all medical and billing information.
Assist physicians with testing, treatment procedures, minor surgeries, and physical exams under supervision. Apply splints and dressings, manage sample medications and logs, arrange necessary testing or admissions, and obtain referrals. Retrieve test results and notify patients as needed. Obtain consents prior to invasive procedures or immunizations. Distribute educational materials and support patient understanding of treatments and medications. Perform laboratory tests and maintain lab logs.
Maintain clinical areas by ensuring all patient care spaces, equipment, and materials are stocked and organized. Order and manage supplies, keep exam rooms clean and orderly following protocols, and ensure instruments are sterile and equipment functional.

Education and Experience Required: Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant or Nursing Program. Work Shift: Varied shifts within a regional healthcare setting in the Midwest United States. Scheduled Weekly Hours: 38
