Location:
Piscataway, NJ (Day 1 Onsite - Hybrid, 3 days/week)
Overview
We are looking for an experienced
Lead Java Developer
with strong
Medicare and Insurance domain expertise
to lead the development, enhancement, and deployment of GIAS interfaces and related systems. This role requires a hands-on technical leader who can drive end-to-end delivery, collaborate across teams, and ensure high-quality solutions in a complex enterprise environment.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage all
GIAS interface modifications , ensuring successful end-to-end delivery.
Provide
technical leadership
and collaborate with cross-functional teams to design scalable solutions.
Oversee
design, development, and implementation
of GIAS-related enhancements.
Conduct
code reviews and design validations
to maintain quality and best practices.
Define technical requirements and coordinate with
server, DBA, and infrastructure teams
for environment setup.
Guide teams in
data conversion activities , including initial data population for GIAS modules (billing, accounting, commissions, etc.).
Support
accounting configuration within GIAS
in collaboration with business teams.
Coordinate with external teams (e.g., Ensono) for
HIPAA suite setup and integration .
Lead
migration of GIAS TPA-layer code
and manage source environments.
Contribute to
Azure DevOps setup , including repositories, CI/CD pipelines, and deployment processes.
Work with scheduling tools (Tidal/GOA/ActiveBatch) for
batch job configuration and execution .
Design and implement
Azure-based web services
for GIAS.
Collaborate with stakeholders (BA, QA, actuarial, and client teams) for
issue resolution and delivery alignment .
Mentor junior developers and onboard new team members.
Plan and execute
production deployments
and support batch cycles.
Communicate effectively with clients during
US Eastern Time hours .
Required Skills & Experience
13+ years
of hands-on experience in
Java development .
Strong expertise in
Core Java, SQL, Hibernate, JDBC, OOP, Data Structures, Multithreading, JDK, JVM .
Experience with
Spring, JSP, Servlets, MVC architecture, HTML .
Proficiency in
JUnit, Mockito, Maven , and exception handling.
Hands-on experience with
Eclipse IDE .
Strong experience in the
Insurance domain , especially
Policy Administration Systems .
Medicare / Health Insurance experience
is highly preferred.
Familiarity with
Azure DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud-based deployments .
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and
client-facing communication skills .
Proven ability to
lead teams and deliver in a collaborative environment .
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working with
GIAS (Group Insurance Administration System) .
Knowledge of
Liquibase scripts and database versioning .
Exposure to
batch processing and scheduling tools .
Experience working in
Agile/Scrum environments .
