Patient Services Representative (Full-Time)
Location: UBMD Primary Care – Conventus Medical Office Building, 1001 Main Street, Buffalo, NY (4th Floor)
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 9:30 AM–5:30 PM, plus one Thursday per month (11:30 AM–8:00 PM)
Pay Range: $17.00–$19.00/hour
Status: Full-Time, Non-Exempt AA/EOE

About the Role:
UBMD Primary Care is seeking a skilled and patient‑focused Patient Services Representative (PSR) to join our high‑volume, multi‑specialty outpatient clinic located in the Conventus Medical Office Building. This is a fast‑paced front‑office role where strong communication, accuracy, and multitasking are essential. You’ll be part of a team that supports multiple specialties and providers, making this an excellent opportunity for someone who thrives in a dynamic clinical environment.
What You’ll Do
In this role, you’ll use your customer‑service, organizational, and technical skills to ensure a smooth and positive patient experience. Responsibilities include:
Front Desk & Patient Interaction:
Greeting and checking patients in and out with professionalism and warmth
Managing a high call volume and directing calls appropriately
Verifying insurance coverage and updating patient demographics
Scheduling appointments across multiple specialties
Providing clear, friendly communication to patients, families, and visitors
Administrative & Operational Support:
Collecting copays and completing daily payment balancing
Preparing and maintaining accurate EMR documentation
Coordinating referrals, prior authorizations, and follow‑up requests
Supporting clinic operations by following HIPAA, OSHA, and PCMH standards
Assisting with reports, tasks, and general office duties as needed

Accuracy in data entry and payment handling

Comfort navigating EMR systems and learning new technology
Technical Skills:
EMR proficiency (EPIC or similar)
Insurance verification
Appointment scheduling
Multi‑line phone systems
Basic office technology (faxing, scanning, copying)
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree preferred
1–2 years of experience in a medical office or customer‑service setting
EMR and Healthenet experience strongly preferred
Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance plans helpful
Excellent communication and multitasking skills required
Work Environment:
Fast‑paced, multi‑specialty outpatient clinic
Well‑lit office setting
Frequent sitting, standing, talking, and computer use
Light lifting up to 10 lbs
May occasionally travel to other UBMD Primary Care locations
