Location:
Cheyenne, WY
Work Period:
June 1 - August 31 (3-month minimum; start and end dates negotiable)
Pay Rate:
$23/hour + overtime at 1.5x
Schedule:
Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. (40 hours/week)
About the Role
Up to six (6) Seasonal Groundwater Technicians are being sought to support statewide groundwater and water quality programs during the 2026-2028 field seasons. These positions provide hands-on experience in environmental fieldwork, groundwater data collection, and scientific analysis in support of major water quality initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Compile and organize scientific files and datasets
Perform data calculations and assist with basic data analysis
Research topics such as seismicity, subsidence, risk assessment, and policy development
Prepare maps, field forms, and geologic information
Assist geologists with data management and field preparation
Prepare materials for statewide field sampling efforts
Review maps, GIS data, and land ownership information
Assist with private well sampling following strict QA/QC procedures
Enter and manage groundwater quality data
Support general field and administrative tasks as assigned
Qualifications
Currently pursuing or possessing a bachelor's degree in:
Geology, Geophysics, Environmental Science, Chemistry, Geological or Petroleum Engineering, or a related natural science field
Experience with data collection, spreadsheets, and basic data analysis
GIS experience preferred
Strong attention to detail with the ability to work independently or as part of a team
Pay Details:
$23.00 per hour
