Title: Front Desk Coordinator/Case Aide
Program: Clinton Residence
Salary: $40,000
Overall Responsibilities:
Under the direction of the Program Director, the Front Desk Supervisor/Case Aide is responsible for providing direction and guidance to Case Aide staff as they perform the day to day activities of concierge and maintaining a clear and unobstructed building lobby area. Assume the duties of the Front Desk Clerk as needed. Provide individual and group skills training, medication monitoring, and on and off-site socialization/recreational activities under the supervision of the Clinical Coordinator.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
The essential duties of the Front Desk Supervisor/Case Aide include, but are not limited to the following activities:
Ensures that sufficient Case Aide staff is available to cover each shift, making adjustments as necessary to provide the required coverage.
Creating and managing Case Aide schedules.
Monitors that Case Aide to ensure that the flow of building traffic is maintained, all visitors are announced, and Visitors Logs are completed.
Reviews all Front Desk Report Logs and ensures that building rounds are being regularly conducted and recorded, and that breaches to building security are immediately reported.
Monitors that Case Aide staff are reporting any unusual resident behavior, such as apparent intoxication or any bizarre behavior, to clinical staff.
Provides crisis intervention in the event of an emergency and contacts appropriate staff.
Oversees the completion of Case Aide room interventions.
Provides activities of daily living (ADL) skills training, medication monitoring, and socialization/recreational activities.
Provides resident fire safety training; oversees self-preservation tests and monthly Fire Drills and re-tests according to NYS OMH standards.
Oversees the coordination of resident escorts, as needed.
Participates in weekly clinical staff meetings and resident Community Meetings.
Performs other duties as assigned by the Program Director or Clinical Coordinator.
Physical Activities:
While performing the duties of this position, the Front Desk Supervisor/Case Aide is regularly required to walk throughout the seven (9) story building to see residents and to talk to other staff members and to respond to inquiries from residents. The Front Desk Supervisor/Case Aide must stand for extended periods of time to observe the lobby area, and to respond to any unusual situations at the entry of the building. The Front Desk Supervisor/Case Aide must stand for extended periods of time to help with the movement of supplies and materials, and must be able to lift items weighing up to twenty (20) pounds.
Qualifications:
A High School diploma or GED and work experience as described below
A minimum of three (3) years of experience working in a residential program serving individuals with mental illness and chemical addictions
An ability to work with entry level staff to enhance their skills, to work cooperatively with the interdisciplinary team to serve the needs of residents
An ability to interact well with all levels of staff, residents, and guests visiting the building
Good oral, written, and listening skills
