Position Summary
Assist with and oversee installation, startup and commission of commercial/industrial HVAC equipment and serve as a lead for special projects training and development.
Responsibilities
Understanding of Air-to-air DX systems – Split Systems / Package Rooftop systems from 1 – 25 Ton minimum
Understanding of VRF multizone systems up to 30 tons
Understanding of Hydronic systems – Heat pumps / Scroll or Screw Chillers / Pumps / Tanks etc. Systems up to 50 tons minimum
Understanding of Hydronic piping systems for hot water/chill water/condenser water, piping installation skills
Sheet metal design knowledge with the ability to produce drawings to submit to a fabrication shop to make the order / sheet metal installation skills
Understanding of refrigeration piping systems, the ability to size the piping systems from manufacturer requirements
Understanding of Light Commercial low voltage control systems and diagnostic skills
Physical Requirements
Must be able to work outside in all weather conditions
Ability to work at heights
Must be able to frequently lift up to 50 lbs. and carry up to 25 lbs.
Must be able to climb and work on ladders, scaffolding and stairs
Must be able to stand for long periods of time as well as stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl in order to work in tight spaces
Must be able to work within confined spaces
Must be able to communicate effectively with employees and customers
Must be able to use hands to reach for, grasp and manipulate objects
Education And Experience Requirements
Must be a high school or trade school graduate or have a GED
Journeyman license preferred
Must hold a Universal Refrigerant certificate
OSHA 10-Hour Certification required as a minimum, additional training may be required.
Leadership experience preferred
1 to 3 years’ experience of HVAC installation
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Strong mechanical aptitude and knowledge of various HVAC equipment
Valid driver's license and ability to meet company driver qualification policy
