Job Description Summary
The Asphalt Plant Operator is responsible for the daily operations of the plant to ensure efficient, safe, and high-quality output. The operator plays a critical role in maintaining production schedules, providing excellent customer service and ensuring compliance with safety regulations. This is a seasonal position with overtime required during the peak season.
The responsibilities include:
Monitor asphalt operation to ensure quality mix
Operate plant according to production schedule using appropriate materials
Perform a wide range of laboring duties
Assist in plant repair and maintenance
Compile reports regarding plant production and maintenance
Work in a safe and professional manner
Report any accidents or incidents to supervisor
Perform daily post inspections and risk assessment forms
Always wear proper PPE (Personal Protective Equipment)
Properly follow all company policies along with OSHA/MSHA regulations for safe working procedures and environment
Potential for night work
Requirements
The ideal candidate will have the following:
Experience in basic mechanical maintenance
Strong communication and customer service skills
Ability to multi task and work in a fast paced environment
Ability to maintain MSHA, OSHA and all other company policies or Government state rules and regulations
Operate equipment in a safe and professional manner
Have the ability to follow through with efficiency on verbal and written instructions
Prescreenings are required before being employed by Callanan Industries.
Regular and predictable attendance at assigned times is required
Valid Driver’s License
Basic computer skills
Education/Experience
Prior experience is preferred, but training will be provided as needed
High school graduate or equivalent
Salary And Benefits
This position offers a union rate of $30-33 per hour.
