SIGN DIGITAL SYSTEMS OPERATOR

Summary/Objective:
This position is responsible for operating/troubleshooting digital printers to reach and maintain maximum production efficiencies. Also responsible for producing quality printed signs and accurately interpreting, documenting, and communicating diagnostic feedback from the machine.
Responsibilities
Follow the safety procedures and practices outlined on the Safety Placard for each piece of equipment.
Set up and operate digital printers.
Must be detailed oriented.
Must be able to perform color matching of printed signs.
Possess good organizational and problem solving skills and be able to work in a fast paced environment with little or no supervision.
Proficiently use and manipulate computer software having to do with digital color control, page imposition, production queues, and output.
Collect and inspect random samples during print runs to identify any necessary adjustments.
Verify the blank and ink meet the job traveler.
Load presses with blanks and make necessary adjustments according to metal size.
Operate press and pull proofs to check for ink coverage and density, alignment, and registration.
Must be knowledgeable of and practice printing safety procedures.
Must be able to meet strict production deadlines while maintaining quality work.

Work Environment
Atmosphere heated and cooled to production temperature.
Cement floor with anti-fatigue mats provided for comfort.
Clean working environment.
Might work around moving mechanical parts.
Will be working with chemicals so at times will be wearing Personal Protective Equipment
Physical Demands
Average or better eyesight and color recognition.
Should be able to stand for entire work period including overtime if needed.
Occasional walking, change of position, reaching, reach across midline, handling, fingering, feeling.
Occasional lift 20 to 50 pounds and 10 to 25 pounds frequently.
Frequent hand and simple grasp.
Required Education And Experience
High School or equivalency.
