Position Summary
Works with interdisciplinary team to deliver high-quality, compassionate care to patients presenting to the Emergency Department. Performs activities which assist the patient in meeting basic human needs and activities of daily living, providing basic patient care to patients under the direction of the RN, LPN, Paramedic, mid-level provider, or physician. Assists in maintaining a safe and clean environment. Reports to the Clinical Nurse Manager.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
Must have certification in required Basic Life Support and De‑Escalation techniques upon hire or receive certification within new employee introductory orientation period and maintain clinical competency during employment within this role.
Experience
At least one (1) recent year experience as an Emergency Medical Technician, Clinical Medical Assistant/Certified Nurse Assistant or at least one (1) current year patient care experience.
Competencies
Must be able to read, write, and communicate effectively in English and have basic personal computer skills.
Must be capable of taking swift and efficient action, including patient restraint when responding to patient emergency codes.
