Join a hospital team in Alamogordo, NM as a Cath Lab Tech (Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist) and support cardiac catheterization procedures by preparing the lab, operating imaging equipment, and ensuring patient safety and accurate documentation. What You'll Need: Graduate from an accredited school of Radiology Technology, an associate's degree in a healthcare-related field, or an acceptable equivalent required. Bachelor's degree preferred. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required (AHA only). Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required (AHA only). State licensure required based on modality for New Mexico: RRT or FUS by MIRTP NMED. 0-1 year of experience in an acute care setting preferred. Preferred certifications (clear as preferred): RCIS (CCI), RCES (CCI), RCS (CCI), Radiography (R) by ARRT, Cardiac Interventional Radiography (CI) by ARRT, Cardiovascular Interventional Radiography (CV) by ARRT, Vascular Interventional Radiography (VI) by ARRT, RDMS specialties (AB, OB/GYN), RDCS (AE), or RVT by ARDMS. Willingness to obtain and maintain required certifications within employer timeframes per licensure and credentialing policy. Assignment Details Facility type: Hospital. Shift name: Days. Shift details: Days 0600-1600. Work schedule: 4 days, 10 hours per day. Work type: Full Time. On-call / call requirement: Every other weekend (Friday 1600 to Monday 0559). The New Mexico Museum of Space History sits in town and documents regional contributions to aerospace within a brief local commute, providing an urban-adjacent cultural option. Alamogordo is located along U.S. Route 54 and has regional transit connections to Holloman AFB and nearby communities, supporting a suburban, accessible living environment. Role Summary and Responsibilities: Prepare catheterization lab and ensure major equipment is operational, perform daily room checks, and restock supplies. Operate fluoro imaging and digital image acquisition systems, and support imaging modalities such as IVUS and intracardiac echo when required. Ensure accurate documentation of patient information, hemodynamic measurements, and procedure records in cath lab systems. Adhere to aseptic technique at all times and act as the radiation safety representative during Xray use. Collaborate with the procedure team to anticipate physician needs, support patient transport, and maintain patient positioning and safety. Complete required competencies for cath lab equipment and maintain proficiency in access site management and specialized devices (IABP, thrombectomy, rotational atherectomy, LVAD support as applicable). Additional Details: Promote organizational values and participate in department initiatives, unit councils, and process improvement activities.
