Public Area Attendant
The Public Area Attendant is responsible for maintaining clean and attractive guest areas while providing attentive, courteous and efficient service to all guests.
Essential Job Functions
Complete guest request in a polite and timely manner
Maintain cleanliness of hallways, closets, and public areas
Restock and organize housekeeping closets to par level of linens, towels, guest supplies, and cleaning products.
Service guest rooms with the door closed unless otherwise requested by the guest.
Report missing items, maintenance issues, and safety hazards promptly to the Housekeeping leadership. If urgent issue in the after, report to manager on duty and engineer on duty.
Handle lost-and-found items in accordance with established procedures.
Maintain guest privacy, confidentiality, and room security at all times.
Work in laundry and refilling water bottles in between tasks and when needed
Clean and service assigned guest rooms according to established standards including, but not limited to, removing trash and soiled linens, restocking amenities, washing dishes, making beds, changing linens, cleaning bathrooms, and cleaning all floors, surfaces, and fixtures within the room
Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
Education/Experience
High School diploma or equivalent and/or experience in a hotel or a related field preferred.
Prior housekeeping or hotel experience preferred but not required.
On-the-job training provided.

Must be effective in handling problems, including anticipating, preventing, identifying and solving problems as necessary.

Must be able to cross-train in other hotel related areas.
Must be able to maintain confidentiality of information.
Must be able to show initiative, including anticipating guest or operational needs.

Keep all hallways, public areas and closets clean, neat, vacuumed/mopped, and free of trash and debris.

Replenish chemical bottles.

Long hours are sometimes required.

Frequent lifting, pushing, pulling, and carrying of items up to 25 lbs (linen bags, cleaning supplies, small furniture).
Occasional lifting or moving of heavier items up to 50 lbs with assistance.
Frequent bending, stooping, kneeling, and stretching to clean guestrooms, bathrooms, and public spaces.
Visual acuity to check cleanliness and detect imperfections.
Must be able to hear and respond to guest requests, alarms, and radios/devices.
Work Environment
Service Professionals are required to perform tasks that involve prolonged movement which may include: standing, walking, bending, reaching and lifting.
The department requires the safe operation of housekeeping equipment and handling of cleaning chemicals and supplies in accordance with the established safety standards.
Work is performed in both guest facing and back of the house areas, which may include exposure to varying temperatures, noise levels and frequent interruptions.
The demands of the department include adherence to quality, safety and service protocols, as well as the ability to manage workload fluctuations depending on occupancy.
Service Professionals are expected to demonstrate professionalism, teamwork and commitment to maintaining a clean, orderly and welcoming environment at all times.
