Document Control Analyst in Houston, TX
$28 – $31/hr.
Contract role with hybrid schedule (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday in office; Wednesday & Friday remote)
We are seeking a
Document Control Analyst
to support project teams by managing critical documentation throughout the project lifecycle. This role plays an important part in maintaining organized, compliant, and accessible project records while ensuring information flows efficiently between project stakeholders.
In this position, you’ll work closely with project managers, engineers, contractors, and records management teams to oversee document processes, manage SharePoint project sites, and ensure all documentation is properly tracked, stored, and distributed.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop, maintain, and execute the project Information Management Plan
Partner with the U.S. SharePoint Administrator to build and manage the project SharePoint site, including permissions and security access
Review and update contractor document control requirements to align with project contracts
Create and maintain transmittal logs, distribution matrices, and the master document register
Set up document repositories, metadata structures, and access permissions
Track document submissions, revisions, approvals, and distributions
Manage document naming and numbering according to established standards
Control sensitive and regulated information and ensure proper handling procedures
Monitor deliverables using the master document register and identify missing documentation
Coordinate with project managers, engineers, field staff, and contractors to resolve document discrepancies
Manage document distribution in accordance with project requirements
Maintain accurate filing practices following document control and records management policies
Track the receipt of records and report status updates to project leadership
Support project closeout by preparing and organizing documentation for final turnover
Coordinate with records retention specialists to prepare hardcopy files when required
Maintain records in project deliverable tracking tools and support other project documentation needs as assigned
