Primary Skills:
5-10+ years of experience in electrical estimating, with a focus on low voltage systems
Proven experience in data center or mission-critical fit-out projects
Strong capability in BOM-based estimating and labor build-ups, parametric modeling with limited design input, and negotiating with contractors and subcontractors
Advanced proficiency in Excel-based cost modelling
Solid understanding of low voltage installation methods, labor productivity, contractor pricing structures, and market dynamics
Strong communication and influencing skills
Responsibilities:
Develop low voltage electrical estimates for data center fit-out scopes (structured cabling, pathways, racks, containment, and associated systems)
Review and validate Bills of Materials (BOMs) and translate them into detailed labor hour build-ups, productivity assumptions, and fully developed cost estimates
Build parametric and conceptual cost models using limited inputs, including unit-based approaches (e.g., $/rack, $/MW, $/LF, $/port)
Develop estimate line items, assumptions, and cost build-ups to support Class 4 and Class 5 estimates within a P70 contingency range
Operate effectively in early-stage or incomplete design environments, developing estimates from minimal information
Commercial & Contractor Engagement
Review, level, and analyze GC and subcontractor bids/proposals
Develop and defend "should-cost" positions using internal models and benchmarks
Challenge labor assumptions, productivity rates, and markups
Identify scope gaps, overlaps, and inefficiencies in contractor pricing
Support or lead commercial negotiations to drive competitive and transparent outcomes Ways of Working (Critical)
Comfortable operating in ambiguous, fast-moving environments
Able to identify missing information, chase down inputs, and progress work independently
Takes ownership of estimates from start to finish, including assumption validation and stakeholder coordination
Works with limited oversight and high accountability
Expected Deliverables

Bid leveling and comparative analyses
"Should-cost" models to support negotiations
Assumptions logs, risk assessments, and contingency recommendations
Clear, executive-ready cost summaries
Qualification:
