Hiring Range: $46,093 - $50,836.00
Hours: 6:00 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.
Water Management seeks a responsible person with a good work ethic and congenial personality to join our grounds maintenance team. As an equipment operator on a crew, you'd be responsible for the landscaping and maintenance of 60+ lift stations, 4 treatment plants, 2 dams, tank lots, and the closed landfill. When needed, crews respond as a backup to the Water & Sewer Maintenance teams to repair work on water lines, hydrants, and valves.
The successful candidate will have:
Broad knowledge of landscaping methods
The ability to operate a zero-turn mower
Ability to operate tandem dump truck for hauling rock, sand, mulch, and dirt.
Seeking a candidate that has experience using:
a wide variety of power tools including: Blowers, edger, chainsaws, hedge trimmers, power drills, impact drills, grease guns, reciprocating saws etc.
Duties/Responsibilities
Coordinates and/or performs landscaping operations including assigning, inspecting, and/or performing operations as assigned, maintains grounds.
Maintains supply inventory; stocks equipment; gathers and compiles information, prepares routine reports; maintains records and databases; and proofs work for accuracy and completeness.
Provides customer service; responds to customer questions and concerns; resolves or escalates issues; and provides information on policies and procedures.
Minimum Qualifications & Experience
High School Diploma or equivalent (GED, HiSet, TASC)
Three years' of related experience
North Carolina Commercial Driver's License (CDL) level B with HAZMAT and Tanker endorsements not required at time of hire but will be required within 1 year of hire date (allowances granted if unable to complete within 1 year due to delays beyond the employees control), and North Carolina Commercial Driver's License (CDL) level A will be required within 2 years of hire
Additional Preferred Skills
OSHA safety training or certifications
Experience with various landscaping hand tool operation,
Experience using a zero turn mower
Experience with backing up a trailer and tandem dump truck
Computer literate with knowledge of CMMS
Knowledge of hydrant/valve installations and maintenance a plus
Ability to operate power and hand tools responsibly with minimum supervision
