Key responsibility
Handle all quality-related activities directly from customers, coordinate with different parties on customer issues, efficiently manage the status of customers' quality issues and requests, and update to the electronic management system in a timely basis.
Promote process quality improvement and assist in new product development activities to avoid quality issues and achieve department KPI targets.
Handle customer site material sorting and assist our engineers) to deliver failure analysis/material analysis result to the customer. Conduct complex investigations, failure analysis, and material characterization throughout all phases of a product life cycle to assist product development in meeting cost, quality, and timing objectives. Support manufacturing in process and materials improvements and in resolving production issues using engineering disciplines (i.e. FMEA, 8D, DOE, etc.).
Cooperate with project managers to coordinate the project process;
Participate in the product development plans, industrialization plans, supplier quality plans, and logistics chain planning;
Develop project quality assurance plan;
Quality risk identification and control;
Development of quality problem management;
Assist in completing product specifications and quality assurance agreements.
Participate in product material selection/modification process. Develop, document, and disseminate specialized materials analysis, characterization, test methods, and procedures as required to meet customer needs.
Development process activity monitoring:
Process compliance monitoring;
Project progress monitoring;
Coordinating the project stage SR review;
Upgrade processing of major quality issues in project development;
Monitoring product and component development mature stage;
Acceptance and release confirmation of industrialized production lines;
Improve the internal project activities.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor degree or above in Industrial engineering, Mechanical engineering, Electrical engineering, Chemistry or Engineering related majors are preferred.
Quality and project managing background
Familiar with automotive industry, battery industry, battery structure principle, battery common maintenance knowledge, state and Federal laws.
Strong communication and coordination skills and the ability to solve complex problems.
Strong MS Excel and PowerPoint Skills
Understanding of quality toolbox (8D RCA, ICA, FMEA, tolerance, control and inspection standards, etc.)
Preferred Qualifications
3+ years of experience as a customer quality engineer in the automotive or energy storage industry
Fluent in English and Mandarin
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
Regular, predictable on-site attendance is an essential function of this role.
Ability to move throughout offices, manufacturing facilities, and construction areas, including walking, standing, bending, kneeling, and climbing stairs or ladders.
Ability to lift and carry materials weighing up to 25–50 pounds, with occasional heavier lifting as required.
Ability to work in varied environments, including offices, industrial, and construction settings.
Willingness to travel to other job sites as business needs require.
