We are seeking a Design Release Engineer (DRE) with 2–3 years of experience, preferably with exposure to Ford’s WERS (Worldwide Engineering Release System). The candidate will be responsible for managing component design releases, coordinating with cross-functional teams, and ensuring timely and accurate product development within the automotive domain.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage end-to-end design release process for assigned components/systems
Work with cross-functional teams including design, manufacturing, quality, and suppliers
Create, update, and release engineering documentation using WERS
Ensure all parts meet engineering standards, cost, quality, and timing requirements
Track and resolve engineering issues, changes, and validations
Support prototype builds, testing, and production launches
Coordinate design changes and maintain BOM (Bill of Materials) accuracy
Ensure compliance with company and customer standards (preferably Ford)
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
2–3 years of experience as a Design Release Engineer (DRE)
Hands-on experience with WERS (Ford system) is strongly preferred
Understanding of automotive xywuqvp product development lifecycle
Experience with CAD tools (Creo, CATIA, NX, etc.) is a plus
Strong communication and coordination skills
Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
Preferred Qualifications:
Prior experience working on Ford programs or with Ford suppliers
Knowledge of APQP, PPAP, and change management processes
Experience with PLM systems
