JOB SUMMARY
The MRI Technologist is responsible for ensuring patient safety and producing high-quality Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) studies. This role requires effective communication with patients, staff, and radiologists, and may include training new technologists and/or patient coordinators as needed. Note: This is a PRN, as needed, position
RESPONSIBILITIES
Ensure patient safety, including thorough pre-screening for MRI contraindications and proper aseptic injection techniques
Produce high-quality diagnostic MRI images
Position patients using appropriate immobilization and protective equipment to comply with safety regulations and ensure patient/staff safety
Conduct MRI safety screenings prior to procedure performance
Start IVs and administer contrast media as directed and according to protocol
Evaluate MRI scans for technical quality and accuracy
Manage supplies, assist with daily cleaning of MRI unit, and support patient transport preparation
Communicate effectively with patients, staff, and radiologists
Train new technologists and/or patient coordinators as assigned
Coordinate scheduling logistics and assist with patient flow to optimize efficiency
Conduct MRI safety screenings prior to procedure performance by identifying and mitigating potential hazards related to magnetic fields, equipment, and patient conditions within the MRI environment.

Requirements:
QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or equivalent
Associates degree or equivalent experience
Active ARRT (R), ARRT (MR), or ARMRIT certification
Active Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
12 years of MRI experience preferred
