
Bend Cutter - Rotating Days/Nights (Walker)

The Bend Cutter position will rotate days and nights. One week on days, one week on nights.
The Bend Cutter prepares site for daily work, performs all housekeeping and duties necessary for daily activities. Must have the ability to read and interpret instructions and documentation. The level and degree of job responsibilities and requirements vary depending on months of experience and assigned job step. Work in other crafts at levels appropriate to training and skills as requested by supervision.
Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities
Must have the ability to operate a track torch for cutting as well as a band saw
Able to read and interpret engineering drawing instructions for cutting
Be familiar with pipe type and schedules
Must be able to organize cut pipe for spool sheet
Clean work area and restock supplies and materials as necessary
Interprets hand signals to determine where materials are to be placed
May be required to manipulate equipment on unlevel working surface
May assist in lifting, position and securing or materials and work pieces during installation
May be responsible for routine maintenance or repairs
Observes load hook up and determines safety of load
Inspects crane for defective parts, documents and notifies the supervisor of the defects or malfunctions
Loads, transports, and unloads materials, tools, equipment and supplies
Performs minor maintenance or cleaning activities on tools and equipment
Learn to read and understand plans and specifications; may be required to interpret load charts
Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job
Works under immediate supervision
Has knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field
Assist other craft workers as needed
Perform other routine duties as directed
Basic Qualifications
May require a high school diploma or its equivalent and previous years of related experience
