JOB OVERVIEW

Job Title: Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA)

Job Type: Permanent - Full-Time

Location: East Chicago, IN

Service Setting: Hospital - Inpatient

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM

On-Call Expectations: Rotational evening, weekend, and holiday call shared among CRNA team

Start Date: Negotiable (Credentialing timeline approximately 90-120 days)

PATIENT POPULATION & SCOPE

Patient Demographics: Adult and Geriatric

Average Daily Volume / Census: Based on operating room schedule and surgical case load

Consults & Follow-Ups: Intraoperative and perioperative anesthesia care

Case Mix/Clinical Focus Areas: General anesthesia services across multiple surgical specialties within hospital setting

FACILITY & TEAM DETAILS

Beds in Department/Unit: Full-service hospital within a 4-hospital not-for-profit healthcare system

EMR System: Epic (HIMSS Stage VII - fully integrated system)

Specialty Backup: Collaborative Anesthesiology team and full surgical specialty support

Support Staff: Dedicated nursing staff, surgical teams, and anesthesia colleagues

Leadership & Reporting Structure: Reports to Department of Anesthesiology leadership

Reason for Opening: Organizational growth and expansion of physician service lines

CREDENTIALING & COMPLIANCE

Board Requirements: Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) certification required

DEA & Certifications: Active RN license, CRNA certification, and applicable state and federal licensure

Credentialing Timeline: Approximately 90-120 days

REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

Board Status: Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA)

State License Required: Active Indiana RN license or eligibility to obtain

Certifications: Current CRNA certification; additional certifications as required by facility

Experience: New graduates and experienced CRNAs welcome

Additional Requirements: Ability to function effectively within a collaborative, team-based hospital environment

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Deliver comprehensive anesthesia care in a hospital-based surgical setting

Collaborate with anesthesiologists and surgical teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes

Participate in rotational call coverage as part of the CRNA team

Maintain accurate and timely documentation within the Epic EMR system

Adhere to all clinical, regulatory, and patient safety standards
