Our client is a specialized healthcare group providing expert cardiovascular perfusion services to support complex heart and vascular surgeries across Central Florida.
Salary Range:
$150-$300k+ (flexible/based on experience)

Position Summary
The Clinical Cardiovascular Perfusionist is responsible for providing advanced extracorporeal life support and perfusion services to adult, pediatric, and congenital patients during complex cardiac, vascular, transplant, and oncologic procedures. This role supports open-heart surgery, ECMO/ECPR, VAD support, transplant services, and hybrid catheterization lab procedures while ensuring the highest standards of patient safety, clinical excellence, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
Primary Responsibilities
Perform
Cardiopulmonary Bypass (CPB) , providing total life support during cardiac operative procedures including:
Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting (CABG)
Intracardiac valve repairs and replacements
Congenital cardiac defect repairs
Aortic aneurysm repairs
Cardiac transplants
Ventricular Assist Device (VAD) implants
Selected lung transplants
Perform
Intraoperative Autotransfusion
during procedures with anticipated significant blood loss; independently operate autotransfusion devices and ensure safe blood product return.
Ensure optimal performance and monitoring of
Ventricular Assist Devices (VADs)
during operating room and special procedures.
Provide
extracorporeal shunting (VV bypass)
to improve hemodynamic stability and blood loss control during liver transplantation and other vena cava procedures.
Manage extracorporeal
blood clot removal systems (AngioVac)
for patients with pulmonary or cardiac embolism.
Perform
Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO)
and
Extracorporeal Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (ECPR) , delivering long‑term circulatory and respiratory support for adult and pediatric patients with severe cardiac and/or pulmonary failure.
Perform
Extracorporeal Oncologic Therapies , including:
Hyperthermic Intraperitoneal Chemotherapy (HIPEC)
Hyperthermic Intrathoracic Extracorporeal Chemotherapy (HITEC)
Percutaneous Hepatic Perfusion (PHP)
Support
organ transplant recovery and maintenance
procedures.
Provide
ECMO transport services
from referring healthcare systems.
Perform
Hemofiltration
to remove excess intravascular and interstitial fluid during cardiac surgery, liver transplantation, and ECMO support.
Prepare, deliver, and manage
Cardioplegia Solutions (CPS)
to induce cardiac arrest and reduce myocardial metabolic demands during cardiac surgery.
Support
hybrid catheterization lab procedures , including:
Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement (TAVR)
Laser lead extractions
AngioVac procedures
Electrophysiology procedures
Provide technical management of the
Intra‑Aortic Balloon Pump (IABP)
during operative procedures.
Participate in
service-line on-call coverage , including nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
Qualifications
Required
Graduate of an accredited Cardiovascular Perfusion program
Certification or eligibility for certification by the
American Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion (ABCP)
Current BLS and ACLS certification
Demonstrated competence in CPB, ECMO, and advanced extracorporeal support technologies
Preferred
Experience with ECMO transport programs
Experience with VADs, AngioVac, HIPEC/HITEC, and transplant services
Pediatric and congenital perfusion experience
Strong critical thinking, communication, and interdisciplinary collaboration skills
