The client is seeking an Assistant Vice President (AVP), Attorney specializing in Property and Casualty (PandC) insurance regulatory and corporate law. The position is available in New York City or Connecticut and involves advising on compliance, regulatory filings, and corporate transactions within the PandC insurance sector. As an essential member of the legal team, the attorney will handle complex legal matters and work closely with various departments to ensure regulatory compliance and effective corporate governance. Core responsibilities include providing legal counsel on a wide array of issues affecting the PandC insurance business, including regulatory compliance, mergers and acquisitions, and corporate finance. The attorney will also be responsible for drafting and negotiating legal documents, preparing regulatory filings, and representing the client's interests in discussions with regulatory bodies. Additionally, the role involves staying informed on changes in laws and regulations affecting the insurance industry and advising on legal risks and business strategies. The ideal candidate will have a Juris Doctor degree and admission to practice law in at least one state, along with a minimum of five years of experience in insurance law and corporate transactions. Experience working in a regulatory environment and familiarity with PandC insurance products and regulations are preferred. While the position primarily operates from either New York City or Connecticut, occasional travel may be required to attend meetings or conferences related to the client's business interests.
