Position Overview
The Wok Station Line Cook is responsible for executing all wok-fired dishes with precision, speed, and consistency during service at Basil&Co Group. This is a high-skill, high-intensity role at the heart of our kitchen. The ideal candidate thrives under pressure, takes deep pride in their craft, and brings a team-first attitude to every shift. Key Responsibilities
Wok Station Execution
Execute all wok-fired menu items — stir-fries, sautéed dishes, and wok-based proteins — with consistency in flavor, presentation, and portioning on every ticket.
Maintain a deep understanding of Thai flavor profiles — the balance of sweet, salty, sour, bitter, and spicy — as applied across all wok dishes.
Work at high speed and volume without sacrificing quality or accuracy, supporting the family-style service requirement that all dishes arrive simultaneously.
Coordinate with all stations and the Head Chef to ensure timely, synchronized family-style food drops.
Station Management
Set up, maintain, and break down the wok station to Basil&Co Group standards on every shift.
Ensure all ingredients are fully prepped, stocked, and organized before service begins.
Monitor wok equipment — burners, woks, and tools — and report any maintenance needs to the Head Chef immediately.
Maintain a clean and organized station throughout service, adhering to all food safety and sanitation standards.
Team Collaboration
Communicate proactively with other stations and the Head Chef to manage ticket flow and coordinate service timing.
Step in to support other kitchen stations as needed to maintain service continuity.
Participate actively in pre-shift meetings, kitchen briefings, and team training sessions.
Minimum Qualifications
Prior line cook experience in a full-service or high-volume restaurant required; wok cooking experience strongly preferred.
Ability to work at high speed with precision under pressure in a hot, demanding kitchen environment.
Familiarity with Thai cuisine, ingredients, and flavor principles is a plus.
Food Handler's Certification required (or ability to obtain within 30 days).
Flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Legally authorized to work in the United States.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
Ability to stand for long shifts in a high-heat, fast-paced kitchen environment.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and handle hot cookware and equipment safely.
Must maintain precision and consistency throughout high-volume service.
